From Expensive WordPress to Page-One Rankings

This is the content platform behind OpsHQ Go — our family-focused PNW blog where Nick writes about hiking with kids, family game nights, dad-hacks, and outdoor gear. We built this case study on our own site because we eat our own dog food: every technique here is the same one we ship to client projects.

The traditional approach to a content blog — WordPress, hire writers, manually publish, cross-post to social media — is too slow and too expensive for a bootstrapped project. WordPress hosting was running $100+/month with minimal traffic, the editor was clunky, and publishing took 30+ minutes per post.

The goal: build a system that could produce high-quality, SEO-optimized content at scale, distribute it automatically, measure what worked, and run on close to zero ongoing infrastructure cost.
